Post - Social Media Scheduling

Schedule, publish, and manage content across LinkedIn, X, and Facebook from one place

What is Post?

Post is Timer's social media scheduling and publishing tool. It lets you compose content, attach media, select target platforms, and either publish immediately or schedule posts for later. You can manage all your social media activity from a single dashboard with calendar, grid, and list views, while organizing content into campaigns for coordinated publishing.

Pro Tip

Use Pallas AI directly inside the post composer to generate captions, suggest hashtags, recommend optimal posting times, and brainstorm content ideas - all without leaving the drawer.

Tabs

Use the tab bar to switch between different post categories:

List View

Pro Tip

Your preferred view is saved automatically and persists between sessions, so you always return to the layout you prefer.

Creating a Post

Follow these steps to compose and publish or schedule a new social media post:

  1. 1

    Open the Post Drawer

Click the "New Post" button from the Dynamic Island or from the empty state. The post creation drawer slides in from the right.

  2. 2

    Select Target Platforms

Choose one or more platforms to publish to: LinkedIn, X (Twitter), or Facebook. Only platforms with connected accounts are available. The character limit automatically adjusts to the most restrictive platform selected (X: 280, LinkedIn: 3,000, Facebook: 63,206).

  3. 3

    Write Your Content

Type your post in the content textarea. A live character counter shows your current usage against the platform limit. You can also use Pallas AI to help generate or refine your content.

  4. 4

    Attach Media (Optional)

Add images or videos using three sources: browse files from Drive, upload directly from your device, or select designs from Studio. Media thumbnails appear in a preview grid before publishing.

  5. 5

    Set Schedule

Choose "Post now" to publish immediately, or "Schedule for later" to pick a specific date, time, and timezone. Available timezones include UTC, Lisbon, London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles.

  6. 6

    Add Campaign and Tags (Optional)

Assign the post to a campaign for organized tracking, and add custom tags for categorization and searchability.

  7. 7

    Publish or Save

Click "Post Now" or "Schedule" to publish, or click "Save as Draft" to save your work without publishing. You can return to drafts at any time to continue editing.

Using Pallas AI

Pallas AI is built directly into the post composer to help you create better content faster. Click "Ask Pallas for help" to expand the AI panel, then choose from four actions:

  • Generate Caption: Describe your topic and Pallas creates a ready-to-use post caption tailored to your selected platforms
  • Suggest Hashtags: Get relevant hashtag recommendations based on your content or topic description
  • Best Posting Time: Receive data-driven recommendations for when to schedule your post for maximum engagement
  • Content Ideas: Get creative content suggestions and angles for your next post

After Pallas generates a suggestion, you can click "Use this" to insert the content into your post, or "Try again" to get a different suggestion. For caption generation and hashtag suggestions, a text prompt field lets you describe exactly what you need.

Managing Connected Accounts

Before you can publish, you need to connect at least one social media account. Click the gear icon on the "Connected" stat card to open the accounts drawer.

  1. 1

    Open Account Settings

Click the gear icon on the Connected stat card, or use the Connect Account options within the accounts drawer.

  2. 2

    Connect a Platform

Choose from LinkedIn (share professional content), X/Twitter (post tweets and threads), or Facebook (share to your page or profile). Each platform initiates an OAuth authorization flow.

  3. 3

    Manage Existing Accounts

View all connected accounts with their platform, name, and connection status. Disconnect accounts you no longer need with a single click.

    Open the Campaign Drawer

Click "New Campaign" from the Campaigns tab or the empty state prompt.

  2. 2

    Fill in Details

Enter a campaign name (e.g., "Product Launch 2026"), add an optional description, pick a color from the palette, and select default platforms for new posts within this campaign.

  3. 3

    Save the Campaign

Click "Create Campaign" to save. The campaign appears in your campaign list and becomes available as a filter and assignment option when creating posts.

Campaign Actions

Right-click or use the context menu on any campaign card to:

  • Edit the campaign name, description, color, or default platforms
  • View all posts assigned to the campaign
  • Delete the campaign (posts are preserved but unassigned)

Media Attachments

Enrich your posts with images and videos from multiple sources:

From Drive

Browse and select files from your Timer Drive. Search by name, filter by images or videos, and select multiple files at once.

Direct Upload

Upload images and videos directly from your device. Supports common image and video formats with multi-file selection.

From Studio

Pick designs created in Timer Studio. Search designs, filter by favorites or recent items, and add them directly to your post.

Selected media appears as thumbnails in the media grid within the post drawer. You can remove any attached media before publishing by clicking the remove button on its thumbnail.

Post Analytics

Once a post has been published, click on it to open the Analytics drawer and track its performance:

  • Post Preview: See the content as it was published, with the publication date
  • Published Platforms: View which platforms received the post, with direct links and status indicators
  • Impressions: How many times your post was displayed to users
  • Clicks: Number of clicks on your post or links
  • Likes: Total likes or reactions across platforms
  • Comments: Number of comments received
  • Shares: How many times your post was shared or retweeted
  • Engagement: Overall engagement rate combining all interaction metrics

From the analytics drawer, you can also duplicate the post to create a similar one, or click "View on Platform" to see it directly on the social network.

Managing Existing Posts

Post provides several actions for managing your content after creation:

  • Edit: Reopen any draft or scheduled post in the drawer to modify content, platforms, schedule, or media
  • Duplicate: Create a copy of any post with all its content and settings, perfect for creating variations or recurring content
  • Delete: Permanently remove a post with a confirmation dialog to prevent accidental deletion
  • View Analytics: Open the analytics panel for published posts to review performance metrics

Platform Character Limits

Each social media platform has its own character limit. When you select multiple platforms, the character counter automatically adjusts to the most restrictive limit:

  • X (Twitter): 280 characters
  • LinkedIn: 3,000 characters
  • Facebook: 63,206 characters

The character counter at the bottom of the content textarea updates in real-time as you type, showing the current count against the active limit and indicating which platform is the limiting factor.

Pro Tip

If you need longer content for LinkedIn but are also posting to X, consider creating separate posts for each platform so you can maximize the content length for each audience.

Scheduling & Timezones

When scheduling a post for later, you can select a specific date, time, and timezone to ensure your content goes live at the optimal moment for your audience:

  • UTC - Coordinated Universal Time
  • Lisbon (WET) - Western European Time
  • London (GMT) - Greenwich Mean Time
  • Paris (CET) - Central European Time
  • New York (EST) - Eastern Standard Time
  • Los Angeles (PST) - Pacific Standard Time

The best time hint feature, powered by Pallas AI, can suggest the optimal posting time based on your audience and platform data.
