Help Center Event Types

Event Types

Create customizable meeting types that guests can book from your public page

What is Event Types?

Event Types is where you define the different kinds of meetings people can book with you. Each event type has its own duration, location, color, icon, scheduling rules, and optional pricing. When a guest visits your public booking page, they see your active event types and choose the one that fits their needs. Think of event types as templates for your meetings - you set them up once and they power every booking.

Pro Tip

Use the Clone feature on any existing event type to quickly create variations. For example, clone your "Discovery Call" to create a "Follow-Up Call" with a shorter duration - all the scheduling settings carry over automatically.

Creating an Event Type

The creation process uses a 4-step guided drawer that opens from the right side of the screen:

  1. 1

    Basic Info

Enter the event type name (e.g., "Discovery Call"), an optional description, duration (15 min to 2 hours), location type, color theme, and icon. If you choose Video Conference, you can pick between Timer Video, Google Meet, or Zoom.

  2. 2

    Schedule Settings

Set buffer time before and after meetings (0 to 30 minutes), minimum and maximum advance booking windows (in days), maximum bookings per day, and whether bookings require manual confirmation.

  3. 3

    Custom Questions

Add intake questions that guests must answer when booking. Use these to gather context before the meeting, such as "What would you like to discuss?" or "What is your company name?"

  4. 4

    Advanced Settings

Toggle whether the event type is active and accepting bookings, control visibility on your public booking page, and optionally set a price with currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, or AUD).

Configuration Options

Each event type offers a wide range of settings to match your workflow:

  • Duration: Choose from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours
  • Location Type: Video Conference, Phone Call, In-Person, or Custom - each with its own detail fields
  • Video Platform: When Video Conference is selected, pick Timer Video (built-in, recommended), Google Meet (requires Google Calendar), or Zoom (requires Zoom integration)
  • Buffer Times: Add breathing room before and after meetings with buffer options of 0, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes
  • Advance Booking Window: Set minimum advance booking (1-365 days) and maximum advance booking (1-365 days, default 60)
  • Daily Limit: Cap the number of bookings per day (leave empty for unlimited, max 50)
  • Confirmation Required: Toggle manual approval for incoming bookings instead of auto-confirming
  • Active/Inactive Toggle: Quickly enable or disable an event type directly from its card without opening the editor
  • Public Visibility: Control whether the event type appears on your public booking page
  • Pricing: Optionally set a price with support for USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD currencies

Customization

Make each event type visually distinct and easy to identify:

  • Color Themes: Pick from 8 preset colors including purple, teal, orange, green, blue, amber, red, and gray to color-code your event types
  • Icon Library: Choose from 30 icons including calendar variants, video, phone, users, briefcase, coffee, graduation cap, rocket, trophy, and more
  • Grid or List View: Toggle between a card grid layout and a compact list view - your preference is saved automatically in local storage
  • Drag & Drop Reordering: Grab the drag handle on any card to rearrange the display order on your booking page
  • Inline Status Toggle: Each card has a toggle switch to activate or deactivate the event type without opening the editor
  • Quick Actions Menu: Right-click the three-dot menu on any card to Edit, Clone, or Delete the event type

Dashboard & Stats

The Event Types page displays three stat cards at the top to give you a quick overview:

Active Types

The number of event types currently enabled and accepting bookings from your public page

Total Bookings

The cumulative count of bookings received across all your event types

Most Popular

The name of the event type that has received the highest number of bookings

Each event type card also shows its own booking count in the footer, along with a link to view its public booking page.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive names: Name your event types clearly (e.g., "30-Min Discovery Call" or "1-Hour Strategy Session") so guests immediately understand what they are booking
  • Set buffer times: Always add at least a 10-15 minute buffer between meetings to avoid back-to-back scheduling and give yourself transition time
  • Add intake questions: Use custom questions to collect context before the meeting. This helps you prepare and makes the meeting more productive from the start
  • Color-code by category: Assign different colors to different types of meetings (e.g., blue for consultations, green for follow-ups, orange for demos) so you can spot them at a glance
  • Review and prune regularly: Deactivate event types you no longer offer instead of deleting them - this preserves booking history while keeping your public page clean

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change the order of event types on my booking page?

Each event type card has a drag handle (the vertical dots icon on the left side). Click and drag the handle to reorder your event types. The new order is saved automatically and reflected on your public booking page.

Can I temporarily hide an event type without deleting it?

Yes. Use the toggle switch on the event type card to deactivate it, or open the editor and uncheck "Show on public booking page" in Step 4 (Settings). Deactivated types keep all their settings and booking history intact.

What happens if I set a maximum bookings per day limit?

Once the daily limit is reached, that event type will no longer show available time slots for that day on your booking page. Guests will still see the event type but will need to pick a different day. Leave the field empty if you want unlimited bookings.

How does the Clone feature work?

Click the three-dot menu on any event type card and select Clone. This creates an exact copy of the event type with all its settings, questions, and configuration. The clone is saved as a new event type that you can then rename and modify independently.

Can I charge for meetings?

Yes. In Step 4 (Settings) of the event type editor, you will find a Pricing section where you can select a currency (USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, or AUD) and enter a price. The price is displayed on your booking page and on the event type card with a tag icon.
